Great application for the G1. Finally it allows me to route international calls through a third party provider. I would like to see an option to make domestic (US) +1 calls too, not only limited to Canadian or Caribbean destinations. An additional option to default without interaction during the dialing process would be a plus too.Again, this is a nice solid app.
Thanks for great application.Unfortunately many cards want user to press '1' after the PIN (saying "press one to make a call"), so the script for cards like this should look like:1800CARDNUMBER[pause]PIN[pause]1[pause]011[phone number with country prefix]
Thanks for the feedback. Version 2, which is being drafted, should be able to handle any calling card. In the meantime, note that the pin field is not restricted to numbers, so you can enter PIN,1 as the pin. The option of dialing without interaction is a nice one, definetively a must add.
Hi,indeed, a great application. A way to automatically dial a hash ("#") after the phone number would be great ;)Seb
For some reason my calling card doesn't like the number when I dial using "+" instead of 011 o maybe the application is not translating it.
If you can't get the app to work, send me a private msg with the country and area code you are trying to call and your phone's country and area code.
well it doesnt work for me...i'm not really sure what i'm doing wrong...i also dont know how to pm you...and laslty, i also think we should have the possibility to add a # sign after the number is written
To contact me use the "Send email to developer" link from the Market.
i could not make it to work. i entered 1's for pause after both access number and PIN and it did not work. then i tried to replace 1's with a's and it did not help too. finally, i tried to send a "private message" to developer and could not. instead i got a note to follow instructions on this webposting.
I have an auto-reply that will link you to this website, but I do read my emails and answer them when I have a chance to.
i have to correct myself - alejandro did write me back with a practical suggestion. thank you. i entered "," instead of '1" and it looks like it fixed the problem initially, i even made several calls. however, not all calls are going through. program correctly dials access number, then PIN code, but does not dial destination number at all, or enters it partially. i am getting voice feedback that only few digits of the destination number were recognized (011, country code and area code), so the calls are being dropped.
Ivan,From your description, waht is most likely happen is that the phone is entering a low power mode before it finished the call. Unfortunately, that is something outside my control. The app has a feature to work around this, which forces the screen to remain on for a period of time. This typically works fine, but this timer could reset if the user interacts with the dialer or may be through actions by other apps. While the call is being dialed, just watch the screen and see if it times out before it finishes.
Alejandro - I did it and it worked!
Thanks for the woderful information. I always visit your blog to get the various offers by VOIP companies. I usally call my family in India. While browsing, I found an interesting site, which lets you make unlimited long distance calls from USA/Canada to India and rest of the world, using your phone. This is not PC to phone call. You don’t have to download anything or need any internet connection. I really mean unlimited. The catch is each hour you can make 10 mins free call to India (or rest of the world) and then come back to get another PIN . I even called my friends in UK and France, voice quality was okay.Visit http://www.muftphone.com to make free calls. I also filled a short sponsored survey, and I received PIN to make 2 hours of phone calls.Friends, just wanted to share this information with you. I am not working or have any affiliation with the said waebsite.
